HL hits the wall for framerate with an 800+Mhz CPU and a fast video card, I find. The rest use the fastest OpenGL option available (TurboGL for the G400 up to W2K, Detonators from nVidia).
Run 8 v2 single player drivers#
The 3dfx drivers occasionally wouldn't, or vsync would get turned on and it was nearly impossible to turn it off. On any of the above 3dfx cards, I used the WickedGL from. P4 Win9x and W2K, GeForce 2 Ultra, 1280x960: The wall of 100 FPS again. 2x nVidia FSAA drops the FPS counter into the 70's. Rarely, if eve, doee the FPS counter stray from 100 or 99.9FPS. PIII Win9x, GeForce 2 Ultra, 1280x960: Hits the wall of 100 FSP and stays on it. From 866 to 942 saw no improvement in game play. PIII Win9x, V2 SLI rig: Better framerates at 1024x768, hitting the wall of about 75 or so. The V2's were smoother when it came to overall framerate. Athlon 550, Win9x, Matrox Millennium G400 MAX: Same as above - ok framerate, but too many dips. PIII Win9x, Matrox Millennium G400 MAX: better color than the V2's, but too many dips in the framerate. PIII Win9x, V2 SLI rig: Quite good at 1024x768 (30 to 60 FPS). PII 266 under Win95 w/ a single V2: single player was good. PII 400 under NT4 w/ a 4MB Millennium II (software): online, forget trying. Or look at the specs I posted above View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gifĪchtung! Achtung! If You guys run Win2k (which I doubt but anyway) make sure there are drivers for the graphics-card available for it. If you want to run the ultimate server, or simply mess around in single-player, then you need to know a few console commands in Conan Exiles. Voodoo3 being the better of the latter View image: /infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif The cheats can affect your player’s stats, movement, and even how they build, as well as provide you with some information about the server itself. Get something like an MX or even a Voodoo3, TNT2 Ultra. You can play highrate vanilla server and multibox with 5 minute multiboxing from furyswipes in youtube.Thats what I did and its amazing fun. It will be a major pain though, the CPU is pretty slow and the gfx card is horrific. I can create a WOTLK / Legion server just fine but as soon as I try to start adding custom scripts before compiling, it always fails the compile. I have a Tbird 1.2 on a Iwill KK266 mobo, 384 RAM, Kyro 2 - 85 FPS at 1280x960 in CS.
Run 8 v2 single player upgrade#
I didn't really think about the upgrade path since You mentioned a 32 MB PCI-card in your original question.Īthlon 1.2-1.4, 512 MB RAM, Geforce 2 Pro If You have money to upgrade I would strongly suggest it though. So for Your current system the best is a Voodoo2. Glide is a proprietary 3Dfx API that can only run on a 3Dfx card (well there was a Glide-wrapper made by creative but it sucked donkey gonads). H-L can use Glide which is plenty fast compared to OpenGL and Direct3d in particular. Dinoarms, the voodoo2 was less reliant on a fast CPU than the TNT-cards.
